Seems like filters have become popular everywhere. No longer restricted
to bangalter water-downs like Phats "n" Small they're now
universal currency. Even self-proclaimed K-Heads like Canadian Dutchman
Robert De La...Gauthier can't resist. The lead vocal on this five tracker
is filtered to oblivion but other than that there's a driving hard-phunk
groove, loads of b-movie samples, and an indescribable sliding synth
hook that could really snare public attention. All the mixes piss about
between disco and techy gear to varying degrees but the drug references
and nagging synth-slides are ever present*** THG

One side of 13 minutes of extreme filtering of a disco loop a la "basic
channel" (long before they came around....) and the other side with
a mix produced together with DJ TWIN PEETZ (Odrex, Odyssey (he had to
switch name), from Montreal (now Berlin).
Not to sounds concieded, but it was one of the very first record using
this type of Heavy filtering....and very long minimalism
Appeared on DJ HELL's chart in Groove magazine, and Josh Wink once told
my brother, Eric, when he met him, that he had heard Richie Hawtin play
it in Amsterdam and was looking for it like crazy, then, I guess he found
it, even reviewed and raved about it in an interview in the french magazine
CODA.

French: Ce Disque-la est canadien, produit par ROBERT DE LA...GAUTHIER,
qui est un peu connu en Europe, mais j'ai eu du mal a mettre la main
dessus. Ca cogne dur, c'est tres sec, minimal et completement barre.
Quand je joue le disque, la plupart des gens croient que je suis entrain
de mixer et triturer les boutons d'equalisation comme un fou!
